This section provides help in actually running sessions where you are addressing subject knowledge. It covers sessions dealing with key stages 1 to 4 and the foundation stage, but not post 16 subject study.

During their training year(s) we hope that trainees will develop their personal understanding of science and hence be able to understand how to approach the teaching of the topic. The emphasis here is on ideas to address their subject knowledge, but often the best way to do this is to involve trainee teachers in developing teaching plans and actually teaching a topic - it is only when you actually have to teach a topic that you realise your misunderstandings!
